Statistics Civil justice statistics quarterly, England and Wales, January to March 2017 (provisional) and Royal Courts of Justice 2016 (Ministry of Justice (MoJ), 1 June 2017) shows that there were 1,100 judicial review applications in the High Court for the first quarter of 2017. This is a three per cent drop on the same period last year. In 2016, there were 4,300 cases overall. Success rates vary considerably according to the defendant.
