We now have a legal aid scheme which is so complex that even experienced practitioners can struggle to get it right. Public spending cuts have reduced the amount of support available from the Legal Aid Agency. Practitioners who remain in the system report greater difficulties getting funding due to ever tighter bureaucratic requirements. In addition, the LAA is scrutinising practitioners through on-site visits and audits. This course will cover the 2018 civil and family contract, focusing in the new requirements to ensure you understand them and don't get tripped up.

The course offers practical guidance and support. Legal aid expert, Vicky Ling, will lead a practical and interactive course that aims to empower legal aid practitioners, helping them manage the difficult times ahead in the ever changing world of civil legal aid.
